The Ayurvedic Lifestyle Training and Immersion is an intensive six-week online program designed to welcome you deep into the world of Ayurveda… to learn the beautiful language so that you can speak it both in your personal and professional life. You will finish with a deep understanding of Ayurvedic principles and how they apply to food, lifestyle, yoga, mindset and daily activities. You will learn the signs of imbalance, the strategies to correct them, and the most important Ayurvedic tools for vibrant health and deep healing. This program is not just about learning new things. It is about learning a new way of life. A way of life that is deeper, richer, clearer and more beautiful than you could ever have imagined. That is the gift of Ayurveda.

Training Curriculum

  • Dive deep into the language of Ayurveda including the 12 key principles and 6 core pillars for health and healing. Understand the key ways it differs from other health modalities and why this matters so much when it comes to developing and sustaining long term health, vitality and immunity

  • The two most foundational steps to any Ayurvedic health program are cleansing ama, or toxins, from the body and strengthening your agi, or digestive fire. Your digestion is your processing system and if it has ama, it has bugs that will make it crash no matter what you put in it. Let’s clear the bugs and strengthen the system so that we can effectively build and repair

  • If you’ve heard of Ayurveda, you’ve probably heard of the Doshas. Though the Doshas are also widely misunderstood and misdiagnosed which can be dangerous to our ongoing health and healing. During this week, you will gain a totally new and fresh perspective on the Doshas, helping you to learn and understand them in a new light. You will also learn the 20 gunas, which are the building blocks of the doshas and of all things

  • It is not enough to just know what to eat. We also need to understand when, where and how to prepare, eat and digest our food. This week will guide you through the principles and practices for health eating and easy digestion to support your optimal health, healing and well-being

  • Our dinahcarya and ritucharya are foundational to our year-round health and immunity. They provide us with structure, support and stability to sustain our health and healing. Our dinacharya is our daily routine and our rituacharya is our seasonal routine. During this week, you will design your own personal dinacharya and also learn the foods, herbs and lifestyle practices to include and avoid for optimal health throughout the seasons.

  • If diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. If diet is right, medicine is of no need. During this week, you will discover the six tastes, or Rasas, and how each one corresponds to a different element and dosha. You will also deepen your understanding of which foods balance and aggravate different doshas, which food combinations create toxins in the gut as well as the medicinal properties of kitchen herbs and spices to improve health and immunity through everyday cooking. You will get access to dosha-speicific recipes as well as Katie’s Recipe e-Book - “From the Love of Ayurveda: Seasonal Recipe for Health and Healing”

6 Week Ayurvedic Lifestyle Training + Immersion

Who is it for?

This course is for anyone wanting to truly and deeply learn the principles and language of Ayurveda. You might be:

  • A yoga teacher wanting to better understand your sister science and how to use the principles to enhance your classes and better serve your students

  • A holistic health practitioner wanting to expand your knowledge and practice to include the wisdom of Ayurveda

  • A parent looking for more natural and holistic health solutions to support your family’s health and well-being

  • A seeker on your own personal healing journey wanting to understand the beautiful science of Ayurveda and how you can embrace it for your own health and healing

How Does it Work

This program is a hybrid of in-person consultations with Katie, online educational webinars, interactive only self-reflection modules, weekly mini-assessments to track and support your development, at-home study using the Shala Ayurveda training work-book, at-home practice and application of your new insights and knowledge. For the best health, healing and learning results, it is recommended you spend between three and four hours each week on the course content and material as well as practicing your new insights as much as possible in your day-to-day life. The best way to learn Ayurveda is to live Ayurveda.

  • Two 45-minute personal sessions with Katie:

    • Session one before you commence your training to discover your unique constitution, current imbalances, and a personalised health and healing treatment plan.

    • Session two at the completion of your training to check-in on your health, healing and development and to review your training and answer any questions you have

  • Six 2-hour online video webinars guiding you through the foundational concepts, principles and applications of Ayurveda

  • Mini online assessments after each webinar to test your knowledge and develop your confidence in your understanding and application

  • In-depth training work-book including dosha-specific asana, pranayama and lifestyle practices

  • Katie’s brain-and-heart based coaching toolkit to help ensure your new habits are effective, lasting and sustainable. You can also use these techniques if coaching or teaching to help your clients.

  • Katie’s Ayurvedic recipe e-book - “From the Love of Ayurveda: Recipes for Health and Healing”

  • Shala Ayurvedic Lifestyle Training Certification to demonstrate your new skills and knowledge in the Science of Ayurveda
